Guided tour of the ‘AVALanche’ exhibition

Description

The Musée des Ormonts has reopened its doors with a new exhibition entitled ‘AVALanche’! This exhibition marks the 40th anniversary of a long series of major avalanches in Les Ormonts.

To mark the 40th anniversary of a series of major avalanches in Les Ormonts, the Musée des Ormonts has put together an exhibition called ‘AVALanche’ dealing with scientific aspects such as nivology and the different types of avalanche. This year, you can take a guided tour on a number of dates! The Musée des Ormonts is located in the historic hamlet of Vers-L'Eglise. Through exhibitions, publications and educational trails, you can discover the rich traditions and daily life of the Ormonts valley, presented according to various themes: architecture, geology, natural hazards and the region's alpine economy. Stretching from Aigle to the foot of the Diablerets massif, the Vallée des Ormonts is a region with a magnificent heritage, rich in tradition. To preserve these traditions and pass them on to the public, the Musée des Ormonts regularly puts on exhibitions revealing a new facet of the valley: the history of winter sports, a journey through old photographs, the Diablerets Bitter drink, the legends of the devil and 100 years of the regional train are just some of the themes covered in recent years. Thanks to these lively and entertaining exhibitions, everyone leaves with the impression of having discovered one of the secrets of the Alpes Vaudoises.
