La Carrière des Chamois

The Carrière des Chamois is the starting point for many hikes but it is also a beautiful outdoor climbing site.
The Carrière des Chamois is located in the heights of Leysin. It offers several climbing voices from 3b to 6a, with a maximum height of 20 metres. This place is perfect for an introduction to outdoor climbing. From this point, there are also several walks that take you in the direction of La Berneuse, Mayen or Prafandaz.
Practical Information
Parking - Free parking - We recommend that you park at the chamois quarry to access Prafandaz. - Campervans, vans and caravans are not permitted in this car park. On site - The Chamois quarry is an excellent climbing spot for beginners - Picnic tables and grill available Viewpoints - The Chamois quarry offers a magnificent view of the RhĂ´ne plain, the Dents du Midi and the Dents de Morcles. - For an exceptional sunset on lake Geneva, walk to the Prafandaz plateau (approx. 15-20 minutes). Start of the walks - The Chamois quarry is the starting point for many summer and winter walks.
