Les Monts Chevreuils

Description

Situated at an altitude of 1,749m, this summit immerses you in the green landscape of the Pays-d'Enhaut and the Col des Mosses! At its highest point, enjoy a 360° view of the surrounding mountains and the famous Lake Hongrin.

The summit of Monts Chevreuils is accessible in summer and winter for your pleasure! Access is possible from La Lécherette or from the small village of Les Moulins. Put on your hiking shoes or snowshoes and go up to this small summit! The various hiking routes allow you to discover paths in the forest or in large flowery pastures. During the summer season, you may be greeted by a few cows on the way up. In winter, they come down from the mountain to make way for small wild animals such as hares. Keep an eye out anyway, you might come across some! Once you reach the top, take a moment to appreciate the nature as far as your eyes can see! The landscape allows you to discover the towers of Leysin, the Pic Chaussy and also the Chaîne des Vanils which dominate the village of Château-d'Œx. Below, a large surface of water catches your eye... It is the lake of Hongrin with its famous dam. In summer, it becomes the ideal place to refresh your feet! If you are patient, the sun will offer you a magnificent sunset in orange colours! The ideal moment to taste good fresh products of the region while enjoying the spectacle of nature.

RECOMMENDATIONS : - accessible by mountain bike and hiking during the summer - accessible by snowshoes and ski touring during the winter - possibility to eat at the Monts Chevreuils hut ACCESS : - by car: possibility to leave the car in the village of La Lécherette or Les Moulins. A second car park is available 20 minutes from the summit (46°25'49.8 "N 7°05'24.9 "E) - by bus : via the TPC line from Aigle or Château-d'Œx (stop "La Lécherette)
