Description
Les Diablerets - passerelle d'Aigue Noir - La Palanche - Cascade du Dar - Col du Pillon
The river Dar has its source at the Diablerets glacier. An impressive waterfall of some 90 metres thunders down from under the snow and rock to its riverbed below. It can be spotted already from the road to the Col de Pillon, but it is much more spectacular on foot from closer up. If the weather is nice, you can bathe your feet in the small rivulets under the waterfall, a pleasantly refreshing experience. Behind the waterfall, the via ferrata with its zip line might be fun to try out.
Practical Information
Transport : By car: drive to the Col du Pillon. On the pass summit, you continue on foot on the hiking trail in direction of Les Diablerets. On foot: walk from Les Diablerets to the Dar waterfall along the river "La Grande Eau" to the Col du Pillon, or from the Col du Pillon to Les Diablerets. By bus: take the postbus to the Col du Pillon and continue on foot on the hiking trail in direction of Les Diablerets. A few tips and recommendations: - Plan your walk (route, length, weather). - Dress appropriately: sturdy footwear (climbing boots preferable), suitable clothing and wet weather gear - Take sufficient food and drinks. - First aid kit - Be attentive to changes in weather - Do not trample on grass or crops - Close all gates behind you - Put out fires, and do not make fires in the event of drought - Take your rubbish with you - If in doubt, turn back early
