Description

Created by the SuperTrail du Barlatay, this 3.5km climb for 900m of positive difference in altitude takes you from the village of Etivaz to the Plan de la Douve in the middle of the Pierreuse Nature Reserve!

Equipped with Timmy beacons, this free access route is timed! From the moment you leave L'Etivaz to the highest point at 2,040m, your time is recorded directly on the free smartphone application. Challenge your fellow runners to beat your own record! After a short warm-up, start the climb directly from the Chamois restaurant in L'Etivaz. The first part of the route takes you through the streets and fields, passing by the church of the small mountain village. Most of the route then zig-zags through the forest. Take a break when the fir trees allow you to admire the view! The higher you go, the more beautiful and breathtaking the view becomes. This route passes through the heart of the largest nature reserve in French-speaking Switzerland. An area rich in flora and fauna. On the way up, keep an eye on your surroundings. You may see a group of ibexes enjoying the sun on a rock or in the fresh grass. Once you have passed the refuge de la Douve, there is only a third of the route left to complete. Get out of the forest and enjoy the view!
