The priory refers to the home of the village priest or pastor. In Rossinière, it was built in 1770. The architect of the time chose to give to his work the look of a local building although, instead of wood, it mainly used stone. This choice gives the building its architectural interest.
Typical elements, such as the tavillons (shingles) and the large lateral galleries are added to the body of masonry. Built in wood, these are arranged on the sides of the cure: one shelters the staircase access to the floor, the other serves as a shed.
