Read article arrow_forwardMade up entirely of chalets, the village has a great deal of character and has been able to develop while preserving its heritage. During the winter and summer seasons, the main street is transformed into a convivial space where you can enjoy the typical atmosphere in complete tranquillity. Strolls along the Grande Eau river take visitors back in time. Far from urban stress, Les Diablerets is just 120km from Geneva airport and less than 40km from Montreux.
Its main town, Vers l'Eglise, a small bucolic village 3 kilometres away, dates back to the end of the 13th century. Discover its chapel, built in 1396 and converted into a temple in 1530, whose interior will dazzle you with its authentic, unspoilt setting. Opposite the church, the Musée des Ormonts organises temporary exhibitions designed to preserve and present Ormont traditions and heritage. Near Les Diablerets, Glacier 3000 allows visitors to combine unique and original activities all year round. At the glacier, skiing is guaranteed from November to May. During the summer season, the glacier offers the Alpine Coaster, the highest toboggan run on rails in Europe. It is also home to the Peak Walk by Tissot, the only suspension bridge in the world linking 2 summits. The 108-metre-long bridge is accessible all year round and offers visitors a 360° panoramic view of 24 peaks over 4,000 metres high.
The Les Diablerets ski area easily links the resorts of Villars, Gryon and Glacier 3000 to form a varied network of ski runs. High-performance lifts take skiers, tobogganers and hikers to the top of the slopes in just a few minutes. The 7 km toboggan run is a fun way to enjoy winter fun. It's also open on certain evenings, making a night-time descent by headlamp a unique adventure!
The Nordic ski runs are regularly marked out and take cross-country skiers to a quiet, secluded spot for total immersion in nature.
