Climbing Wall - Château-d'Oex
Overview
Outdoor climbing in a safe environment. Located in Château-d'Oex, this outdoor wall is designed for anyone wishing to improve their climbing skills or to discover the pleasures of the sport.
The site offers climbing on beautiful rock, sometimes slightly abrasive, as might be found on some of the routes on the north face of the Gastlosen . Its north-westerly orientation makes it an ideal site for climbing in the shade between seasons. It's also worth noting that it's sheltered from light rain and that some routes are always dry.
Practical information
ACCESS:
From Château-d'Oex, take the Col des Mosses road to the Rosette crossroads. Park alongside the road on a small tarmac square. From the group of farms, take a country road for 500 m. In a pasture, pick out a tractor track which enters the forest before returning to an isolated hut. 10 metres before the hut, cross the fence at the edge of the forest and follow a steep slope up to the cliff.
