Pra de Cray by ski touring

To get there, take the road from the hamlet of La Frasse, then the one that goes up along the Mérils stream, until it forks 1km from the centre. Then take the road that climbs to the left and becomes horizontal. Then follow a path that climbs obliquely through the meadows and then into the forest. Go up above the "Les Fenillets" ridge along the forest, then to the right, and finally directly to the Cray plateau. Straight on to the Pointe de Cray to finish this climb!

When crossing, follow the ridges towards Pra de Cray, by the thread, taking care of the sometimes important ledges dominating the S side.

When you descend, do so directly onto the Mérils valley, which you leave on the left bank at the bottom to avoid the bottleneck. Then join a group of three prominent chalets on the left, cross again into the forest and then descend through a clearing and sparse forest to a second road leading to the left to an isolated chalet. Follow this road to the meadows above Château-d'Œx to return to the starting point.
