K'Creation/Corinne Karnstädt - Cutting Art

Description

Corinne Karnstädt-Brulhart was born on 17 September 1971 in Lausanne. Self-taught, she bought a scroll machine in 1999 and started to make wooden names as puzzles.

In 2004, Corinne participated in her first Christmas market organised by the Tzamartisans in Château-d'Oex. Out of love for the traditions of her region, in particular the cut-outs of the Pays-d'Enhaut, she decided in 2005 to paint cut-outs on wooden supports. Respecting the well-known paper cutters in her valley, she made her first Poya clock the same year. Dynamic and always looking for new creations, it is in October 2008 that she tries the art of cutting on paper, she makes some tests with the cutter and catches the virus quickly. She started by making a few small pieces for her family and friends, and created her first large round cut-out which she entitled "Mes Racines".
