"Swing Celebration"
Born from the vision of dancer-singer-choreographer Anna Stevens, Swing Celebration is unique in that it brings together musicians and dancers on the same stage, with a shared passion for swing. But beyond sharing this passion with each other, their common goal is to pass it on!
Swing Celebration is a 1 hour 30 minute show, combining swing (with musicians, swing dancers) and... the audience! Swing Celebration is a participatory show. The dancers get the audience to dance with them to the sound of the band. The audience becomes a full member of this troupe, which celebrates joie de vivre and good humour.
The Villars show is a quintet, with two dancers and a singer.
In symbiosis with the musicians, the dancers also offer varied and dynamic choreography to plunge the audience into the madness of the twenties, thirties and forties. They perform couple numbers, song and dance numbers, Charleston choreography and emblematic tap dance routines.
The period costumes and sequins create a succession of cheerful colours and images, reminiscent of the greatest Broadway musicals. Whether it's the fringed charleston dresses, sequins, top hats, braces or caps, it's all there to take you back in time!

THURSDAY 20 FEBRUARY 2025 - AT 8:00 PM (with a 30-minute intermission)
‘Oldies but Goldies’ with the Filarmonica Quartet
A genre of music made up of hit records from earlier eras, usually thirty or more years in the past. Maybe old, but still good!
The Filarmonica Quartet will be presenting two suites, real nuggets: a suite on the music of the Fab Four, the Beatles, and Jesus Christ Superstar, the rock opera, a historic production that ran for 711 performances on Broadway and 3,358 performances in a row in London!
The members of The Beatles (name adopted in 1960) are : John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. Years of activity: 1960 until their split in 1970... fifty-five years ago! Their success was immense, and they are still the best-selling band in the world. After the assassination of John Lennon and the death of George Harrison, Sir Paul McCartney (born in 1942) and Sir Richard Starkey (Ringo Starr, born in 1940) are still active.
In the second half of the concert, the ensemble will perform the suite from Jesus Christ Superstar (arranged by Daniel Legkov). Composed by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Tim Rice. Originally, an album was released in 1970, as no one wanted to take the risk of presenting it on stage, but Broadway welcomed it in 1971 and a film was released in 1973 (directed by Norman Jewison). The music. It was a worldwide success!
