Like all great paintings, Juan Martínez's is about all of us. Rarely do we come face to face with such nakedness, such fragility and such a frightening awareness of life.
The artist tirelessly searches for the instinct beyond time, a time without rest, a time out of time, an anticipated spring. He is capable of conceiving images of sublime strangeness, exploring attitudes that bring us closer to the unspeakable original.
His intensely moving paintings and his poeticisation of the silence of the void of nothing show us a multiplied (or divided) self, a labyrinth of identities that are as dizzying as they are exciting.
His important and rigorous work, in which an Imaginative ferment of the best character slumbers, is made of excess and poetic breath. It exudes a visual experience full of inventiveness, far removed from the commonplace and the obvious.
