Musée Jenisch Vevey
Avenue de la Gare 2
1800 Vevey
Open to all, the Musée Jenisch Vevey is an art museum - drawing, printmaking, painting - on a human scale, preserving and promoting six centuries of creativity and inviting visitors to participate in enriching experiences. Founded by a woman and now run by a predominantly female team, it boasts a rich permanent collection (Bocion, Courbet, Corot, Hodler, Vallotton, Picasso, Morandi, etc.), a special place dedicated to engraved art - the Pavillon de l'estampe -, a reconstruction of Oskar Kokoschka's studio, exhibitions that can't be seen anywhere else, and innovative outreach initiatives. It's a dynamic, inclusive museum that has the art of inviting visitors into an authentic, lively encounter with the works of art. A special place for pleasure, emotion, knowledge and inspiration.
The second-largest art museum in the canton of Vaud, the Musée Jenisch Vevey houses an extraordinary collection of works on paper, in particular the Cabinet cantonal des estampes, which contains more than 40,000 works from the Renaissance to the present day, making it one of the five most prestigious collections of prints in Switzerland. It also houses the world's largest collection of graphic works by Oskar Kokoschka, as well as a collection of over 11,000 drawings by the greatest artists in the history of art.
