Domaine de Trécord
Chemin de Trécord
1867 Ollon
Located in the commune of Ollon, in the Chablais vaudois, the Domaine de Trécord was created in 2007. However, the vines of the Domaine have been bearing fruit for almost a century.
It all began with Edouard Bouchet, born in Vich (VD) in 1868. He lived in the La Côte region and during his holidays visited his uncle, an old man living in Ollon. He fell in love with the area and, when his uncle died, decided to settle there. In Ollon, he worked as a police officer and, like everyone else at the time, he cultivated vines and raised a few cattle to support the family.
He then set about collecting the plots of vines bordering on those he owned. With a lot of patience, he managed to buy back all the small pieces of vineyard, sometimes composed of only two rows, around his property. As a result, the current estate is almost in one piece.
Edouard Bouchet's daughter, Lydie, married François Cropt, who, like his son Georges and grandson Philippe, continued to maintain and expand the estate. During this period, the harvest was delivered to the Ollon Winegrowers' Association, a century-old cooperative of which Edouard Bouchet was one of the founding members. When Harald, son of Philippe and Madeleine, joined the Domaine, after attending the Changins School of Oenology, part of the harvest was vinified and marketed at the Domaine.
The vineyard of the Domaine de Trécord is exposed to the south-southwest and therefore benefits from a large period of sunshine. Its proximity to the Rhone Valley allows it to benefit from the warm wind currents (foehn) and the fine weather that accompanies them. The rainfall is sufficient to produce a quality grape that does not suffer from great water stress.
Located in the upper part of Ollon, at the bottom of the slope, the vineyard is not very sensitive to spring and winter frosts and its position between the Confrêne and Glaivaz woods means that it is regularly protected from strong winds and hail.
