The vineyards of Bex

The commune of Bex enjoys a wide reputation thanks to the salt from its mines. Other sights worth seeing include the wines and, closely related, the gastronomy.

The vineyards of Bex cover 110 hectares, more than half of which are cultivated with red grape varieties. The winegrowers produce under the appellation Bex, Chablais AOC. In the Chablais vaudois, Bex is the terroir that benefits most from the foehn wind. This dry and warm wind favours the reds at the end of their maturation process and gives them very particular concentrations of aromas and structures.

The gypsum soil and the effects of the foehn give the wines of Bex their character.

The winegrowers of Bex open their doors for the tasting of their wines. The Sentier des vignes (vineyard path) allows walkers to discover these terraced vineyards under the sun and to discover the products as they go along.
