Description

This 4km tour brings you close to the Sarine river to discover the Turrian bridge! You'll also find a few gourmet stops along the way.

The starting point for your walk is Château-d'Œx train station. Easily accessible by the MOB train or the TPC bus, the station is located in the centre of the village. Leave the village centre and its stone houses to reach the banks of the Sarine. The yellow hiking signs indicate your route. After passing the Château-d'Œx riding school, where a few athletes are looking after the horses, cross the small bridge to reach your destination. A small gravel path invites you to enter the heart of the Ramaclé forest. Follow the path as it zigzags between the fir trees. You'll then come to the imposing Turrian bridge! Built in 1883, this suspension bridge is the oldest in French-speaking Switzerland and one of the last still standing. Ready to cross? Under your feet is the Sarine. This river flows from the Saanenland before crossing the Pays-d'Enhaut and ending its course in Fribourg. Fishing enthusiasts are big fans of its banks. Perhaps you can spot one far away, waiting patiently for a new catch! Once you're out of the forest, head for the Piscine du Berceau! If you want to, stop off for a cool drink on the terrace. Enjoy the view of the mountains and the acrobatics of the swimmers. Your next stop? The Berceau farm. This is where you can taste incredible ice creams made from the milk of the farm's cows. Cinnamon, pistachio, strawberry, chocolate, caramel... It's impossible to resist the flavours. Once you've had your fill, it's time to head back to the centre of the village, where you can make one last gourmet stop on the terrace of the Hôtel de Ville!
