Living letters from here and abroad: ‘As the seasons go by

Bringing to life or reviving texts from here and elsewhere, contemporary or from yesteryear. Establish a link between author and audience, between people from near and far. Spend a convivial moment in warm surroundings or even in nature.

On the programme :

• Thursday 27 March 3-5pm: ‘Passé sous silence’, novel by Jacques-Etienne Bovard, Ed. Bernard Campiche.

Reading and presentation of the book by the author. A story that is both tense and comic, dramatising the controversy surrounding Switzerland in 1939-1945. Followed by a glass of verré: CHF 10.

• Saturday 26 April 3-5pm: ‘Paul de Tarse - L'enfant terrible du christianisme’, by Daniel Marguerat (Ed. Seuil).

In this book, the author, theologian and honorary professor at the University of Lausanne, revisits the character of this apostle; it is also an opportunity to discuss the meaning of Easter celebrations today. Afternoon snack. Participation: CHF 10

• Saturday 31 May 17:00-19:00: ‘La fête à quatre mains’ (Four-handed celebration)

Two pianist friends, Anna Semkina and Lia Hakhnazarian, will perform works by Bach, Tschaikovsky, Prokofiev and Hachaturryan. Followed by refreshments. Admission: CHF 20

• Saturday 21 June 3-5pm: ‘The glaciers of the Alps and photography - In the light of their disappearance’.

Author Claude Reichler, researcher and writer, honorary professor at the University of Lausanne, shows us how contemporary visual artists work with the trace nature of the photographic image. Snack and aperitif. Admission: CHF 10
