Rapaz Frères, winegrower-winemaker

Winegrowers and winemakers at heart, the Rapaz brothers run their own vineyard and mature all the wines in their own cellar, the last press located in the commune of Bex. Their motto is to produce authentic wines without any blending.

On the gypsum hill, the Montet hill, the Bex wines are proud of their chalky-gypsum soil where the floral-mineral personality of the Chasselas is characteristic, and where the red grape varieties in general find a place of predilection.

In their cellar, the Rapaz brothers produce 20 different types of wine and grape varieties, such as : Bélénos (Chasselas), Chasselas violet, Bélénos Gâtion, Chardonnay, Pinot gris, Sauvignon blanc (whose gypsum plays a major role in the grape variety), Gewurztraminer, St-Clément (sweet wine), Nébuleuse (sparkling muscatel wine), Œil-de-Perdrix, Rosé Cybèle (Gamay), Attys (Gamay), Pinot noir, Clos de Trepied (Gamaret-Gamay), Merlot, Pinot noir Gâtion, Le Plant Basile (unknown grape variety reintroduced), Le Botzéron (blend of 7 grape varieties), Casta-Néa (blend of predominantly Merlot vinified in chestnut barrels). As well as the vin des mines (Attys or Pinot noir aged in the salt mines of Bex for at least 8 years).
