This tree was introduced to Europe in the mid-19th century.
At over 110 metres, it is the tallest tree in the world. Several specimens can be found on Aiglon territory. Its name comes from the Indian chief See-Quayah, inventor of the Cherokee alphabet.
This tree produces very small seeds, around 250,000 per kilo, which is a contradiction in terms compared to its size. Its bark is thick, spongy and fibrous. That's why it's called the boxer's tree, because you can use it as a kind of punching bag.
