Old town of Aigle
Overview
Let yourself wander around and find the signs of yesteryear. The town of Aigle has a rich past of which many witnesses are still visible: the arcades of the rue Jérusalem, fountains, sculptures, to be discovered during a stroll.
Four emblematic districts are at the origin of the city of Aigle: the district of the Chapel, the district of the Fountain, the district of the Cloister and the district of the Village. All of them are naturally still inhabited and very much alive.
To discover the history of Aigle and the atmosphere of the town, simply stroll along the narrow streets. To learn more, two educational walks guide you: "the tour of the fountains" and the "streets and people" walk.
The historic centre of Aigle is also the heart of numerous events, such as theme markets, Festi'Brad or sports races. In this way, the historic centre continues to live on and traditions are carried on in a spirit of meeting and sharing.
