La Fromagerie

The chalet, built in the 1700s, is located in the old village of Leysin. The solid wood tables, which can accommodate more than 10 people, ensure a friendly atmosphere around a fondue. Above, a cosy mezzanine welcomes you for a more intimate meal around small tables.

The highlight of the restaurant La Fromagerie is without doubt the cheese making demonstration offered several times a week. A master cheesemaker curdles the milk in the centre of the restaurant, using a huge cast iron cauldron, heated by a wood fire.

On the second floor, enthusiasts have reconstructed an 18th century mazot. In a series of small rooms, you will discover more than a thousand objects from the daily life of the Leysenouds. Furniture, kitchen accessories, toys and numerous posters tell the story of life in the resort of Leysin up to the present day.
