The 2024 theme: The 60th day

Every 4 years, we enter a leap year. The year gains an extra day on 29 February - the 60th day of the calendar. An exceptional day, it is also known as the "leap day" and slips surreptitiously into our diaries.

Its rarity merits greater attention.

With its connection to the workings of nature and the solar system, it's a day not to be overlooked in the light of current environmental issues.

Being born on 29 February means that those who are born on that day have to ask themselves a lot of questions during their early years. How do you explain the fact that you were born on a day that only occurs every 4 years?

Leap years are also the years of the Summer Olympics. Energy, effervescence, challenge, what dynamic words to characterise this period.
