Thanks to the value of its heritage and its vineyard, Aigle also stands out as a tourist haven of interest. Its Castle - whose origins date back to the beginning of the 13th century - houses the Vine and Wine Museum. An exceptional terroir, the Aiglon vineyard enjoys a fine reputation: since 2012, the city has hosted the Mondial du Chassselas, an international competition which designates the best vintages from this grape variety.
Walking the streets of the old town offers a certain architectural interest, as does the St Jacques Church, where the theologian Guillaume Farel celebrated the Reform cult for the first time in 1526.
Aigle also readily presents itself as the cycling capital, thanks to the presence of the World Cycling Center - UCI headquarters - and the many competitions that take place there.
Many SMEs, oriented towards services, construction and crafts, as well as large companies in the field of engineering and the food industry constitute the fabric of Aigle's economic activities.
